The Damned

English punk band formed in 1976 in London by Dave Vanian (vocals), Brian James (guitar), [a762393] aka Captain Sensible (bass then guitar), and [a341602] aka Rat Scabies (drums).
The group was the first British punk band to release a single ([m=18998] in 1976). They turned to a more psychedelic and gothic sound in the 1980s.
